Management of hip pain
Tracking # 20-1263409
Course overview
In this Practical, the development of an individualised physiotherapist-led treatment plan will follow an impairment-based model, considering the underlying diagnosis of the cause of hip pain. The practical will show the clinician how to progress a patient to the level of sport and physical activity desired by the patient in a safe fashion. It will also discuss the risks and likely benefits of hip arthroscopy and other surgeries in adults with hip pain and how to engage people with hip pain in the shared decision-making process for appropriate treatment decisions. Finally, it will discuss when physiotherapist-led treatment might no longer be appropriate, and when other treatments such as pharmaceuticals or surgery may be necessary.
