Course overview
Module 1: Somatic Drivers This module will provide an in-depth insight towards low back-related leg pain (LBRLP) and enable the viewer to successfully distinguish between somatic vs neuropathic leg symptoms. They will also develop an understanding of how to differentiate between spine vs hip pathology, accompanied with a review of common hip pathologies which produce leg pain. Module 2: Neuropathic Causes - Part 1 This module should provide the listener with an improved awareness towards the clinical features and triage options for sciatica. Module 2: Neuropathic Causes - Part 2 The 2nd half of this module will cover diagnosis and treatment of spinal stenosis looking specifically at clinical features and clusters of tests to diagnose this condition. The module also covers peripheral neuropathy in the lower limb and how to differentially diagnose from other conditions. Module 3: Vascular Culprits - Part 1 We often think of leg pain to be derived from somatic or neuropathic pathology. However, this module aims to improve your understanding towards some of the common vascular conditions which create leg pain with the first half of the module focusing primarily on peripheral arterial disease diagnosis and management. Module 3: Vascular Culprits - Part 2 The second half of this module focuses on deep vein thrombosis and pumlonary embolism as vascular causes of leg pain. Module 4: Systemic Drivers With an ever-ageing population who present with increased comorbidities. It is integral clinicians can recognise some of the medical conditions which can contribute to leg pain.
