Course overview

Groin pain is one of the most common injuries experienced by athletes involved in running, kicking and change in direction sports. Recent research has significantly enhanced our understanding of the common causes and contributing factors to this condition. In this practical, the clinician will be provided with the latest evidence-based assessment skills for examining an athlete with groin pain. The tests used to categorise groin pain according to the Doha agreement and rule in/out hip-related groin pain are demonstrated, and the clinical reasoning process discussed to help the clinician navigate the clinical patterns. Furthermore, the clinician will gain skills on how to assess the impairments commonly associated with hip/groin pain and direct the management plan.
