HIV/AIDS: A Real-Life Experience

Course overview

In addition to dealing with the issues of aging, older adults with HIV may face more challenges. Older adults living with HIV commonly experience changes in physical and mental abilities. They are more vulnerable to stress and mental health conditions. Providing the best care for someone with HIV requires compassion, understanding, and a desire to meet the person's unique needs. The goal of this course is to educate caregivers in post-acute care settings on providing care for people living with HIV.
