The Impact of Trauma on Relationships: Strategies for Healing

Course overview

Participants will be able to name the four primary attachment styles (secure, anxious, avoidant, disorganized) and explain how trauma influences the development and maintenance of these attachment patterns in relationships, will be able to describe at least three common behavioral patterns that arise in relationships due to trauma and describe how these patterns affect communication and intimacy between partners, and will be able to describe at least two trauma-informed counseling interventions to help couples address trust issues, repair emotional harm, and rebuild intimacy.
