Course overview

As a result of this activity, healthcare professionals will be able to accurately identify acute, sub-acute, and chronic pain, and apply best practices for effective symptom management in patient care. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: 1. Differentiate between acute and persistent pain. 2. Identify characteristics present in a patient with pain. 3. Discuss how pain impacts a person's ability to function. 4. Identify appropriate outcome measures to quantify a person's pain. 5. Describe both non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions for pain.
