Have you ever wondered if your client is neurodivergent or autistic? Do you worry if youre doing effective work with this population? You may have clients who have difficulty reading social cues, fearing theyll say or do the wrong thing or be called weird. They face neurotypical biases and discrimination every day. Constantly feeling the threat of being found out as different, they try to mask who they are to avoid humiliation and social rejection. These experiences and their emotional toll are what we call autistic trauma. Autistic trauma often goes unrecognized and untreated. In this workshop, youll gain the knowledge and skills to work more effectively with autistic trauma. Youll gain confidence in your ability to: Identify autistic traits and factors contributing to autistic trauma Conceptualize trauma through an autism framework Implement trauma interventions that are neurodiversity informed Integrate two cutting edge approaches, IFS and Neurodiversity Affirming Care, to enhance treatment outcomes
