Course overview

Nearly 50% of runners get injured every year and many of those injuries do not fully resolve. Running is a high impact, repetitive, and complex activity making it challenging to treat for all practitioners. Physical therapists are one of the primary providers managing running related injuries, but doing so can be challenging. This course will provide an outcome-focused approach to managing runners in the clinic. An overview of running mechanics and common issues runners face as well as solutions to those challenges and strategies to improve runner performance will be covered. Participants will be able to assess runners functionally and apply evidence-based treatment strategies immediately in the clinic. By the end of the course, participants will have confidence in optimizing outcomes for runners in the clinic.
