This course examines the synthesis of theories of change in school-based interventions to prevents substance use and violence by integrating health and academic education. It includes: some key considerations of synthesizing theory, mechanisms of change improving health by eroding boundaries, eroding boundaries between health and academic education, eroding boundaries between classroom and the wider school, eroding boundaries between schools and families, and additional mechanisms to reduce substance use.
