By providing data from the San Francisco Study to show the need for 95% adherence. Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Define HIV and AIDS, its history, and epidemiology
- Identify common modes of HIV transmission
- Describe methods in which HIV may be transmitted in a health caresetting
- Discuss universal precautions and other infection control techniques that can reduce the risk of HIV transmission in healthcare settings
- Identify common secondary infections and conditions associated with HIVand AIDS
- Determine clinical strategies for the prevention and management of HIV and AIDS and describe the changes in HIV disease state management over the past 40 years
- Discuss federal and Florida laws pertaining to HIV and AIDS, including confidentiality of testing, the treatment of patients, partner notification and reporting requirements, and the offering of HIV testing to pregnant women.8.List current and upcoming treatment options for opioid use disorder
