Course overview

This module will open us up to death, look at the parallels between how life comes into being and leaves it. We will look at our present cultural biases around death and dying, and why we have become such a death phobic society. In this module you are invited to explore the mysteries of death, examining the striking parallels between how life enters and exits existence. We will uncover the cultural biases that shape our modern approach to death and investigate the reasons behind our society's deep-seated fear of dying. Through understanding these concepts, we aim to shift from a death-phobic mindset to one that embraces the natural cycles of life and death with greater awareness and acceptance.
