Antimicrobial Stewardship in the Community

Course overview

Antimicrobial stewardship programs have been shown to decrease antibiotic usage, improve patient outcomes, and decrease adverse drug reactions. The CDC has released Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs in efforts to help hospitals implement and expand effective stewardship programs. This session will discuss the CDC core elements for stewardship programs and provide examples for program implementation at facilities.
