By the completion of this course the participant will be able to: Identify cellular structure in general Cite cellular factors involved in wound healing Differentiate between contamination, colonization, and infection and when to treat with antibiotics Demonstrate understanding of the Cardinal Signs of infection Identify when a wound culture should be collected and the proper collection technique Distinguish the major differences between Gram (+) and Gram (-) Bacteria Differentiate the environments in which aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms can survive Demonstrate understanding of aseptic technique when treating patients with chronic wounds
