Course overview

The recertification for the Certified Veterinary Business Leader course includes 3 hours of inventory management and 2 hours of leadership content. The first three hours of content focus on inventory management. Veterinarians have many choices of drugs and diets to treat patients. Yet carrying every wonderful medication and diet that is available ties up a lot of cash and creates confusion for the staff and for clients. Doctors - unite! We will discuss tips to effectively manage your inventory without running out of needed drugs and diets, learn the difference between margin and markup, calculate inventory turnover rates, and gain an understanding of how a weekly inventory budget will help reduce your in-house inventory costs. We will also review some simple steps for identifying opportunities to continue to grow revenue. The second portion of this course includes two hours of content emphasizing on quality leadership skills. Leadership from the point of view of "Leading Within the Day", exemplifying leadership, your team looks to you to see, feel, and experience leadership, along with giving and receiving valuable feedback, which everyone on the team can benefit from.
