Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, including the roles of the central and peripheral nervous systems, neurotransmitters, and the autonomic nervous system, will be able to describe the intricate relationship between the nervous system and emotional regulation, including the impact of the limbic system on emotional processing and memory, will gain knowledge of evidence-based strategies for promoting emotional regulation, such as mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and lifestyle interventions, and understand how these techniques influence neuroplasticity, will be able to assess factors that influence emotional regulation in clients, including genetic predispositions, environmental factors, and hormonal influences, will be able to describe practical tools for implementing nervous system regulation techniques in clinical practice, including how to create personalized regulation plans for clients and integrate techniques into their daily routines, will gain expanded knowledge of advanced topics in emotional/nervous system regulation, such as trauma-informed approaches, addressing chronic stress and burnout, and fostering resilience and growth in clients, and will be able to display competence in recognizing signs of trauma responses and understanding the intersection between trauma and regulation, enabling clinicians to provide more effective support and interventions for clients with trauma histories.
