DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE This course will describe a clinical case study of a diabetic patient. The course will use the latest research and data to understand the current management of diabetes, health risk factors associated with diabetes, and progressive stages of the disease. It will include how to assess insulin resistance through proper history taking, examination, and lab testing. The course will offer information about low-glycemic diets, exercise, and other treatment recommendations including pharmaceuticals and lifestyle management. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this seminar, participants are expected to be able to: 1. Understand the disease diabetes 2. Understand the proper evaluation process and differential diagnosis of diabetes 3.
