Course overview

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive imaging modality that offers superior visualization of pelvic organs in various clinical settings. Imaging can diagnose and stage disease, plan treatment, and monitor the response and outcomes of diseases. Strategies to improve image quality are paramount to maintaining diagnostic accuracy. MRI is fast, reliable, and offers better soft tissue contrast than other imaging modalities. MRI of the pelvis is safe and effective in several special populations. The goal of this course is to provide radiologic technologists with an overview of MRI techniques used to evaluate various conditions of the pelvis.
