This course provides a comprehensive overview of key aspects of endoscopic procedures, including the types of endoscopes used for upper and lower GI interventions and the nursing responsibilities before, during, and after these procedures. Additionally, the course explores potential complications, sedation principles, and safety considerations to enhance patient care during GI procedures. This foundational knowledge ensures that nurses are equipped to collaborate effectively within healthcare teams and provide safe, evidence-based care. The goal of this course is to help nurses prepare for the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN) certification exam.
