Course overview
The purpose of this program is to inform healthcare professionals about the nature of sleep and insomnia and insomnia effects on people across the life span. The nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment of insomnia will be covered, as will the implications for this widespread problem. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: Discuss the scope of insomnia in the United States.Identify the sleep needs of infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.List three behavioral therapies and three classes of medications used to treat insomnia.
