This book is for the practitioner who wishes to incorporate therapy that draws on clients' spirituality or religious background as a resource for recovery from eating disorders. The authors build on the literature documenting the influence of client religiousness and spirituality on the development and maintenance of as well as the recovery from eating disorders. There is growing empirical evidence that spiritual approaches to treating clients are as effective, and sometimes more effective, than secular ones, particularly with spiritually or religiously oriented patients.
