Course overview

The goal of this program is to update nurses' ability to identify and report child abuse. The completion of this module satidfies New York State's mandatory requirement for RNs on the subject of child abuse. After you study this information, you will be able to define what constitutes abuse, maltreatment and neglect, and identify the corresponding physical and behavioral indicators, list the physical and behavioral indicators of sexual abuse and identify the legal protections afforded reporters and the consequences for failing to report.
