MALARIA
Tracking # 20-366150
Course overview
Each year, an estimated 216 million people develop malaria, and more than a half million people die of it, most of them in sub-Saharan Africa. Even though malaria is both preventable and treatable, a child dies of it every 30 seconds. Malaria is caused by a parasite so tiny that 50,000 could fit inside the period following this sentence. Malaria is a re-emerging disease, one that once could easily be cured but now is resistant to many of the medications available.
