Course overview

Featuring revised diagnostic criteria, new ICD-10 codes, and an increased emphasis on contextualizing disorders within each patient's racial identity, the DSM-5-TR represents several key shifts in standard clinical approaches. Included in these changes are the introduction of Prolonged Grief Disorder as an official diagnosis, as well as Suicidal Behavior and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, both of which now have ICD-10 codes. The DSM-5-TR also introduces new neurocognitive, mood, and depressive disorders, while providing diagnostic revisions for dozens of previously established disorders. This workshop will identify and expand upon the full range of changes made in this most recent revision to the DSM, combining theory with actionable insights to enable working clinicians to adopt all changes effectively.
