Course overview

This training will address compassion fatigue concepts and prevention for supervisors. It will discuss both direct experience of compassion fatigue as well as supervision of those who might experience it, including ethical considerations for supervisors to take into account. The training will address risk and protective factors, warning signs, resulting impacts, and will specifically emphasize concrete skills to manage and prevent compassion fatigue. Supervisors will learn ways to support and facilitate prevention of compassion fatigue among their supervisees, as well as how to address compassion fatigue in themselves through self-assessment, group discussion and implementation of professional development plans
