This course provides respiratory therapists and speech-language pathologists with an overview of the steps of ventilator weaning. Learners will gain an understanding of how to assess readiness, perform spontaneous breathing trials, and determine the safety of extubation or the removal of ventilation for patients who no longer need ventilator assistance.
