Advanced airway management is an essential skill for health care providers caring for injured or critically ill patients. Rapid sequence induction (RSI) is the most frequently-used and successful means of intubating the trachea. This course will teach a wide range of skills imperative for successful patient outcomes, including airway anatomy and physiology, basic airway techniques, basic airway devices, normal and abnormal respiratory patterns, indications and procedures for intubation, monitoring equipment, and indications, procedures, and medications used in rapid sequence intubation.
