This course is designed to help physicians and healthcare professionals identify and address impairment in both patients and colleagues. Participants will gain the skills to recognize the physical, cognitive, and behavioral signs of impairment due to various factors, such as substance use, burnout, mental health conditions, or medical issues. The course also emphasizes the ethical and professional responsibilities of healthcare providers in managing impairment, including appropriate intervention strategies, reporting protocols, and supporting recovery, while maintaining patient safety and upholding the standards of care.
