Stroke Rehabilitation: Challenging Dysfunctions Impacting OT Care (Valentino)

Course overview

Our patients who have survived a stroke may face a multitude of challenging dysfunctions, including Pusher Syndrome, impulsiveness, and emotional lability, impacting their ability to return to the activities and occupations they love. This course is centered around investigating these dysfunctions and behaviors that inhibit ease of function for our patients, impact caregiver success, and pose unique challenges for us as therapists to overcome to return our clients to their lives and activities. By identifying challenging dysfunctions and increasing our literacy in predicting and understanding the etiology behind such obstacles, we will be able to serve our clients better and enhance our clinical approaches.
