Side-Lying & Prenatal Massage Practice Session Self-paced Home Study
Tracking # 20-1277064
Course overview
This training is for licensed massage therapists who have already trained in prenatal massage. Prior to practicing prenatal massage, therapists must learn all the different precautions, accommodations and contraindications of working on pregnant women to avoid medical error and/or grave consequences. Please complete comprehensive prenatal massage training that includes precautions, contraindications and more prior to attempting to learn/practice hands-on techniques for pregnant women. This course provides an instructor demonstration of a hands-on full body prenatal side-lying massage plus a repeat of the same video instruction for students to practice along with the video on a healthy client. Our training will include working on a pregnant client while they are lying on their left and right side, in addition to a semi-recumbent massage to provide a full body massage experience for pregnant clients. Please do not attempt to learn this side-lying technique with your first practice time on a prenatal client. Pregnant women should never be used as guina pigs. Please use a healthy model to practice this sidelying session on, and then once you feel confident with your new side-lying massage hands-on skills, only then would it be appropriate to attempt to practice this session on a pregnant client.
