Course overview

Medication Administration for children has always been complex because pediatric medications are weight based, not standard as in the adult population. About 30% of medication errors in hospitals affect children, and 60% of these affect children under 5 years old. Even those who work with children regularly are prone to errors. But even hospitals who do not work with children regularly are more inclined to pediatric medication errors. This course reviews developmental stages and how to safely administer medications to children within those stages.
