Alzheimers Disease and Dementia are prevalent worldwide. Many patients and their families desire that the patient be cared for in their homes. Nurses are instrumental in assisting the family in creating a safe home environment. In this course, we will review the basics of dementia and Alzheimers Disease, identify potential safety concerns and adverse event prevention strategies, and understand nurses' role in contributing to home safety through educating caregivers and advocating for patients.
