Course overview
This training provides an overview of Ohio legislation and regulations affecting transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals, with a focus on the ethical and legal requirements set forth by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist (CSWMFT) Board. Participants will gain an understanding of how Ohio law intersects with national and legal considerations, as well as their responsibilities as licensed professionals. This session will include a review of updates to the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care (SOC) and their impact on clinical practice. Additionally, the training will guide participants through the process of conducting assessments and writing WPATH referral letters under the Ohio CSWMFT Board's regulations, equipping them with the necessary tools to provide informed, ethical, and affirming care to TGD clients.
