Course overview

To learn how to use assessment and knowledge of anatomy and postural assessment techniques to create an effective treatment for individuals with chronic or longstanding pain patterns. This class is divided into three sections. Assessment. Treatment. Documentation/ Follow-Up. After each section a Q&A time will be alloted. The ultimate goal of the therapist is to reduce or eliminate the condition presented to them in their findings. Mostly the postural distortion. According to Travell and Simons 78% of all pain is from Trigger Points. This class also complies with Pain Management Techniques. Some of the techniques may also be applied to acute injuries and for post surgical care, to improve sports performance and the prevention of injury. This course will address the following ischemia, myofascial trigger points hypersensitivity in muscle reduced range of motion. Postural assessment including gait patterns will be implemented. This course will include documentation and client therapist relationship including communication skills and professional ethics. Treatment protocols will be reviewed and discussed. Client Therapist dynamic is enforced and applied to all treatment protocols. Body Mechanics, Postural Assessment, Anatomy and Physiology are included in all coursework.
