Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify and distinguish the clinical presentation of key psychosexual challenges associated with aging and at least four prevalent medical conditions among older patients that impact sexuality.
2. Recognize and address common patient- and provider-based barriers to discussing sexual health and prevalent themes in treating psychosexual disorders in older adults, with a focus on fostering open, respectful communication in diverse clinical settings.
3. Apply the four levels of the PLISSIT model to effectively and sensitively address sexual health concerns in older adults using tailored interventions to mitigate symptoms, enhance intimacy, and improve overall quality of life.
