The CDC estimates that nearly 70% of Americans have been ill or experienced a COVID infection. In fact, many of the patients we treat every day have experienced a COVID infection at some point since infection rates began. This course is designed to offer a nutritional approach in adjunct with typical rehabilitation protocol for addressing patient issues due to long Covid that have affected their overall quality of life. COVID-19 infection has been found to attack organs and systems including cardiovascular, digestive, and respiratory. During its attack, many vital nutrients are sacrificed to assist the body in successfully fighting off the infection. If those nutrients are missing or lacking, the body begins to experience various long-term effects that are very difficult to overcome. This course will offer discussion on possible COVID related nutrient deficiencies and potential ways to improve their presence in the organ systems needed for full recovery. Finally, the course will look at various COVID diet related programs and analyze how to recommend the appropriate patient-specific program based on patient presentation and limitations.
