Survive the Ride

Course overview

Although motorcycles comprise only 2% of the traffic on Florida roadway, motorcycle fatalities make up 17% of all traffic deaths. This 2-hour, interactive web course was developed as part of Survive the Ride, a Florida Department of Transportation program to reduce the number of motorcycle fatalities by mitigating the effect of the injury. The courses provides the core cognitive knowledge to rapidly evaluate, stabilize, and transport the motorcycle crash patient, toward a goal of expediting triage based on mechanism and injury patterns, improving prehospital field assessment and treatment, and transporting patients directly to trauma centers based on high suspicion of injury. This e-Learning course can be completed in multiple sessions.
