As important as it often is to take a front-facing approach to clients with anxiety by examining their behaviors and overall presentation, exploring the neuroscience behind the facade opens opportunities for powerful, long-term healing. In this course, Dr. Catherine Pittman, HSPP, will lay out an evidence-based, neuroscience-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) model that is packaged for both mental health professionals and their clients to understand and utilize. Within the course, you will learn how the amygdala and cerebral cortex encourage fearful and anxious thoughts and beliefs. Armed with this deeper understanding, you will then be able to leverage these mechanisms to steer the client towards healthier anxiety levels. As anxiety is inherent to human nature, the goal is not to eliminate it completely, but to direct it towards healthier and more productive functionality. By the conclusion of the course, you will be equipped with a result-driven framework designed to map neatly over the brain's natural tendencies to create truly lasting and effective change.
