This course will guide occupational therapy practitioners to comply with the laws and rules relevant to practice of occupational therapy in the state of Florida. The goal of the course is to provide practitioners with broad knowledge about the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy and related professional organizations. The topics covered pertaining to the laws and rules include: - Training requirements and supervision of personnel - Using prescriptive devices - Renewing credentials and maintaining licensure - Disciplinary actions and/or penalties - Legal and ethical issues influencing practice
