Course overview
Children with cerebral palsy face unique challenges when learning practising and mastering everyday tasks. Their ability to participate in activities like dressing feeding bathing and toileting is influenced by multiple factors including body structures and function environmental conditions and personal characteristics. Many children experience difficulties with sequencing timing and grading motor activities due to impaired sensory integration reduced fine motor control and motor planning and decreased upper-body coordination. In this course we explore occupational therapy interventions and strategies as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the development of independent living skills in children with cerebral palsy. This course aims to introduce occupational therapy strategies and interventions to support children with cerebral palsy in developing independence in activities of daily living.
