Course overview

Cerebral palsy can affect multiple body systems from the neuromuscular system to the integumentary cardiopulmonary musculoskeletal urinary gastrointestinal and sensory systems. These multisystem effects can profoundly impact a child's function overall health and well-being. As healthcare professionals we must recognise these impacts and design therapy plans that accommodate specific challenges. Where possible we must work with other team members to address each system and optimise overall function. This introductory course explores some of the complex multisystem impacts of cerebral palsy and associated conditions. This course aims to introduce the multisystem impacts of cerebral palsy focusing on the neuromuscular integumentary cardiopulmonary musculoskeletal urinary respiratory gastrointestinal and sensory systems.
