Course overview
Discussion about what occupational therapists need to know about the exploitation of older adults. Topics include a discussion about the composition of our aging society the differences between forms of elder abuse, including financial exploitation, undue influence, and fraud various types of fraud and scams that commonly impact the elderly and the abuse reporting requirements and procedures for occupational therapy professionals. Additional topics include: our aging society aging, exploitation, and public health financial exploitation; undue influence fraud a statistical overview of fraud; the impact of financial exploitation federal elder laws; financial fragility scam susceptibility the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) practitioner awareness and elder abuse and reporting elder abuse.
