Course overview
This is the first part of a two-part course series. Clinicians will learn medical history and clinical presentation of distinctly different patients who present with dysphagia in the NICU/neonatal period. They will learn from an experienced clinician how to pinpoint items in the history and clinical examination to guide their evaluation and questions for the medical team. Evidence-based therapeutic interventions appropriate to each patient's course and diagnosis will be discussed. In part 1, diagnoses of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and bronchopulmonary dysplasia will be presented. Clinicians working in the NICU or doing follow-up for NICU graduates will find this course applicable.
