Course overview

The Online Endodontics Diploma is a continuing education program designed for dentists who seek to update and enhance their knowledge in endodontics based on the most recent scientific evidence. This program provides both theoretical and practical training in diagnosis, instrumentation, filling techniques, and technological advancements in the specialty, enabling professionals to apply standardized clinical protocols in their daily practice. This diploma has been structured to comply with the standards and state regulations for continuing education in dentistry across the United States. The program design allows participants to develop key competencies in the management of complex endodontic treatments, the use of innovative technologies, and the implementation of biosecurity protocols and professional ethics. Through a mixed methodology, combining synchronous online sessions with autonomous activities and case studies, the diploma ensures meaningful learning that can be applied to real clinical practice. With a total of 156 CE credits, the program has been structured to ensure the progressive acquisition of knowledge and skills, including clinical case discussions and critical analysis of scientific literature. Dental Morphology and Pulp Access Principles of Radiology in Endodontics Determining Working Length Principles of Cleaning and Disinfection of the Root Canal System Manual Instrumentation Techniques in Endodontics Rotary Systems in Endodontics. Endodontic Obturation Techniques Preclinical Practices: Endodontic Instruments Identification and proper handling of instruments used in endodontic practice, including manual and mechanized files. Operating Field Isolation Techniques for placing the rubber dam and methods of absolute and relative isolation in endodontics. Pulp Access Procedures for correct pulp access and locating root canals in different types of teeth. Endodontic Radiology Interpretation of periapical radiographs and CBCT for evaluating root anatomy and diagnosing periapical lesions. Obtaining Working Length (Reading and Analysis) Application of radiographic techniques and use of electronic apex locators for the precise determination of working length. Cleaning and Preparation of Canals (Clinical and Experimental Analysis) Evaluation of the use of irrigating solutions, instrumentation techniques, and disinfection protocols in endodontic therapy. Obturation and Sealing of the Canal System (Sealing Techniques Analysis) Application of three-dimensional obturation methods with gutta-percha and sealant cements, comparing different techniques and materials. Final Evaluation: Final exam: A theoretical test on the key concepts of the diploma. Preparation of an integrative clinical case: Semiology and clinical evaluation. Radiographic diagnosis and treatment planning. Pulp access and working length determination. Cleaning, shaping, and disinfection of root canals. Three-dimensional obturation and final sealing.
