Course overview
This course guides occupational therapists through the process of recognizing patient characteristics that indicate the need for an orthosis, determining the ideal type, and ensuring proper fit and usage. The benefits and guidelines for use of static orthoses are presented. Static-progressive and dynamic orthoses are not discussed in detail in this course. This course provides occupational therapy professionals with an overview of orthosis types, usage indicators, and strategies to ensure proper fit and safety.
