Course overview
The purpose of this course is to educate healthcare professionals in prevention of and intervention of pediatric abusive head trauma (PAHT), particularly shaken baby syndrome (SBS). Child abuse and trauma affect the entire family unit, the healthcare system, and the community as a whole. The goal of this course is to prepare nurses to care for patients who have suffered from SBS and educate their families about prevention of this type of trauma.
