This interactive online content will introduce the dysphagia specialist to treatment techniques appropriate for soft tissue restrictions that contribute to an abnormal swallow. Lecture reviews muscular and fascial anatomy tying biomechanics and kinesiology into specific soft tissue mobilization techniques appropriate to improving all stages of the swallow. Case study integrates the interpretation of common pathology and symptomatology that may contribute to aspirative events and video instruction exemplifies the application of techniques. Additional course objectives include postural impairment as it relates to the swallowing clinician with an informative discussion and video demonstration of several basic practical skills. The presentation of this course will emphasize basic functional, biomechanical faults and provide a brief overview to the two-day, interactive workshop.
