Course Objectives: In this course, you will learn to: understand the prevalence, risk factors, and warning signs associated with suicide; apply systematic and evidence-based approaches to suicide assessment, including risk and protective factors; establish a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment for clients discussing suicide; utilize culturally sensitive and ethically sound strategies when working with diverse populations; implement evidence-based treatment modalities for clients experiencing suicidal ideation; collaboratively develop safety plans and crisis management strategies to address immediate risk; identify and address potential barriers to treatment engagement and adherence. recognize the importance of self-care and professional support when working with suicidal clients; understand legal and ethical considerations related to suicide assessment, treatment, and management, and develop risk management strategies to ensure clients' safety and protect professional liability.
