Course Overview: This course is designed to provide counselors with specialized training in addressing the unique mental health needs of veterans and their families. Participants will learn how to screen for conditions such as PTSD, addiction, suicide risk, readjustment issues, intermittent explosive and related disorders, and the importance of family and marital counseling in promoting holistic well-being. Through evidence-based approaches and case studies, participants will develop the skills to effectively support and provide comprehensive care to this deserving population. Course Objectives: In this course, you will learn to: Understand the mental health challenges faced by veterans and their families. Learn effective screening techniques for PTSD, addiction, suicide risk, readjustment issues, and related disorders. Identify evidence-based interventions and treatment approaches tailored to veterans and their families.
