Course overview

The term regenerative medicine was coined in a human medicine conference in 1999 in an effort to describe the interventions that aim to restore normal tissue and function when it has been damaged by disease, trauma or degeneration. Since then, the field has grown dramatically, and it is also making notable strides in the Veterinary world. The term regenerative medicine now incorporates three main concentrations 1cellular therapies, 2tissue engineering and biomaterials and 3 medical devices. For this segment, we will be focusing on the options and outcomes of using biotherapeutics in working canine patients. Cellular therapies can contribute significantly to maintaining the working canines ability to participate in search and rescue, law enforcement, and other service roles.
