Rotator Cuff Injuries - Evaluation and Management

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Review the anatomy and biomechanics of the muscles surrounding the shoulder joint.
• Identify the causes, etiology, and classification of rotator cuff injuries.
• Recognize the clinical presentation of rotator cuff injuries.
• Differentiate among the various types of rotator cuff tears.
• Utilize history and physical examination as initial methods for evaluating rotator cuff pathology.
• Employ various Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy assessment tools to gain insight into how the injury impacts a patient’s daily life and functional abilities.
• Implement interventions aimed at reducing pain and inflammation, improving shoulder range of motion, and restoring strength and stability, including exercises, education, and adaptive strategies to potentially prevent the need for surgery and enhance functional activities.
